One day in April, the fifth grade had a special guest speaker when Mr.Stebbins came in and joined Michael Stebbins to teach us about Lego Robotic tournaments. The Stebbins set up a robotics board and showed us the process for how the tournaments progress. The theme for this year has been to improve the lives of senior citizens by making tasks safer and easier for them. On the robotics board, there were many challenges that the robot was programmed to accomplish. The fifth graders favorite challenges were the bowling challenge, the dog challenge, and the bridge challenge. Michaels team, the Ice Tornadoes has won many trophies in various tournaments. At the state tournament, Michael and Lucas raised their score from 30th to 4th place and also won the highest number of points in a state tournament. Overall, the Stebbins did a wonderful job introducing Lego Robotics to the fifth grade.
