Have you ever thought of giving to others that are need? Its an amazing task to achieve. Our school TPS achieved this goal by supporting this drive-Cradles To Crayons. Our job as students was to donate clothes, toys, house hold goods(blankets, towels..) and other goods like hats, and shoes. This donating program originated from a girl named Lynn Margherio who is the founder and CEO of Cradles to Crayons. She created an organization that every year a eighth grader would be chosen from each town in Massachusetts to go to Boston and meet the kids we are donating to. This project is referred to as Project 351 (the number of towns in Massachusetts.) Autum Kelley is our 351 ambassador of Thomas Prince School. On April 10th we had a huge party to celebrate the job we have done. All grades, teachers, and staff were invited to join this huge celebration in the gymnasium. To make the drive more fun, we had a competition on which grade could donate the most items. (for each object had a certain amount of points.) Amazingly 5th Grade collected and donated the most items, but what mattered most was how every one did their best to donate a huge amount of care to some one in need. Our whole school donated 6,588 items to Cradles to Crayons,(85 bags), Salvation Army(19 bags), and Interfaith Hospitality Network( numerous bags). Since 5th Grade collected the most items, we received crayon Popsicles !! Our teacher received crayon princess crowns, but since everybody did such a great job they all revived Popsicles. This drive helped everyone realize giving to others who need it is as simple as 1,2,3, from one heart to another.
