At the beginning of the planting season, the fifth grade planted radishes, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, kale, gourd, chives, and celery. Each grade had a few beds in our garden to plant the seeds in. We all went out and got to plant the seeds and at the end of the year we hope that we will be able to harvest our plants. In our garden we also like to use our home made compost tea. We have a worm farm that produces the compost that we use to make our compost tea with a ten to one ratio of water and compost. Now our plants are growing healthy and happily. At the beginning of May, our radishes were thriving and growing green so we decided to go out in our garden and harvest the radishes. Today we had the chance to taste them and they were DELICIOUS! The radishes have a plain first taste and a spicy aftertaste. We are still waiting for the rest of the plants to sprout but we can see the plants poking out of the ground and some are fully grown. Another plant we harvested were chives. Chives are mostly related to garlic and onions and again they tasted DELICIOUS! We hope that our garden will continue to thrive and grow many delicious vegetables.
