This previous school week, we have been working on a project in writer's workshop. Our project is to write a how to about re-potting a plant! The process was easy especially since we had hands-on experience, watching Mrs. Prunier re-pot her spider plant. The class watched Mrs. Prunier step by step re-pot her dying plant. Then with our amazing worm tea, the plant is making a full recovery. Then when Mrs. Prunier was finished she paired us up in partners and we made posters and detailed plant pictures! The reason we wrote these was to teach descriptive writing and obviously how to write a how to. We wrote this in a paragraph form. The steps of writing a how to are... First, you have to jot down the steps. Then you have to write the steps, using descriptive language and creative word play to make your how to not boring also so the how to will be interesting. The how to's were a fun and exciting activity since we had partners and we got to work together!!!!
